Barack Obama got downright fiery today, in a speech on health care at Arcadia University in Pennsylvania, lambasting insurance companies for their ever-higher premiums. “They will keep doing this for as long as they can get away with it,” he said. “How many more Americans have to lose their health insurance? …. When is the right time for health insurance reform?”
He also blasted Republicans for playing politics on the issue. “I’ll be honest with you,” he said, voice rising to a fever pitch, “I don’t know how passing health care will play politically, but I do know it’s the right thing to do! It’s right for our families, it’s right for our businesses, it’s right for the United States of America, and if you share that belief, I want you to stand with me and fight!” (More Barack Obama stories.)
