Eric Massa took the opportunity on his weekly radio show yesterday to accuse other House Democrats of running him out of Congress because of his opposition to health care reform—and to reveal the spicy comments that spurred the ethics investigation that forced his resignation. “Now they’ve gotten rid of me and it will pass,” the New York representative lamented of the legislation. On to the juicy stuff:
Massa says it all started when he was dancing with a bridesmaid at a New Year’s Eve wedding, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports. Leaving the dance floor, he approached a group of sloshed male staffers, one of whom urged him to pursue the bridesmaid, presumably in a sexual manner. To which Massa replied: “Well, what I really ought to be doing is frakking you.” He did not make it clear if that was the actual language used, but asserts that the harassment complaint came from another aide who was at the table.
