Rocker Chrissie Hynde is furiously threatening to sue an Italian fashion house after it named a red leather handbag after her. The Pretenders star, whose commitment to animal rights has resulted in her arrest in the past, says she's livid that the designers are putting brass in pocket off a potshot at her. "At first, I thought this must be a joke, it's so outrageous and thoughtless," Hynde tells the Independent.
Hynde, who recently refused to let Burger King use one of her songs in a commercial, urges a boycott—Hogan, the red-faced manufacturer of "the Chrissie," is backpedaling. Hynde's fellow activist Moby turned down a commercial for steak sauce, and the Rakes turned down a Burberry shoot because the fashion company still uses fur in its designs.
