A familiar name might someday being roaming the outfield for the Boston Red Sox. The team today drafted the grandson of Carl Yastrzemski, reports the Globe. The younger Yaz, Michael, is 18 and no sure thing to make the bigs. But it can’t hurt that he’s been tutored by one of the all-time greats, especially since the death of his father (Carl’s son) in 2004.

“I think he’s got a chance (to play in the majors),” the elder Yaz said in February. “He can hit. He’s a good outfielder, he runs well, and he’s got a strong arm. He’s come a long way.” (More Boston Red Sox stories.)
