Trump Brings His Own 'Royal Entourage' to UK

President Trump was the guest of honor at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace on the first day of his visit to the United Kingdom—and he was surrounded by plenty of familiar faces. In what Politico dubs a "royal entourage," the president has brought numerous administration officials to Britain with him, including press secretary Sarah Sanders, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, advisers Stephen Miller and Kellyanne Conway, as well as Melania Trump and all four of his adult children. Friends including Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy are also in Britain and attended Monday night's banquet. A White House source tells Politico that the entourage is expected to be a "buffer" between the mercurial president and his hosts.

At the banquet Monday evening, Trump spoke about the anniversary of D-Day, mentioning the Queen's wartime service as a mechanic, and offered a toast to "the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations, and to the long, cherished, and truly remarkable reign of Her Majesty the Queen," CBS reports. The Queen, remarking that her first state visit to the US was at the invitation of President Eisenhower, offered a toast to Trump and "to the continued friendship between our two nations, and to the health, prosperity and happiness of the people of the United States."
