Girl, 5, Shot Dead by 5-Year-Old Friend

An Idaho girl has died in what police say was an accidental shooting at a home she was visiting. Noelle Aston Shawver, 5, was with another 5-year-old who, they say, grabbed hold of a gun while adults were in another room on Wednesday afternoon, the Idaho State Journal reports. Noelle was found with a gunshot wound and taken by paramedics to Portneuf Medical Center where she later died, police say. "We are not releasing any" further details, an officer says. "Obviously that's part of the investigation." A GoFundMe page set up to pay for funeral and other expenses has reached more than $20,000 in a single day. (More Idaho stories.)
