Barack Obama isn't exactly quaking in his boots over John Boehner's lawsuit threat, at least not publicly. "The suit is a stunt," the president told George Stephanopoulos at ABC. "I'm not going to apologize for trying to do something while they're doing nothing. … What I’ve told Speaker Boehner directly is, ‘If you’re really concerned about me taking too many executive actions, why don’t you try getting something done through Congress?’"
Boehner's office fired back with a statement arguing that the "American people, their elected representatives, and the Supreme Court" have all complained about Obama's overreach, and that "dismissing them with words like ‘smidgen’ or ‘stunt’ only reinforces their frustration," Politico reports. The ABC interview also touched on Obama's foreign policy, with Obama downplaying the threat posed by ISIS. "They're gaining strength in some places," he admitted. "But we've also got a lot better at protecting ourselves." (More Barack Obama stories.)
