Debby Looming, La. Declares Emergency

With Tropical Storm Debby bearing down on Louisiana, Gov. Bobby Jindal was taking no chances with his state today, declaring a state of emergency in the low-lying coastal areas the storm threatened to flood. Debby had already unloaded significant amounts of rain on Florida today, and was forecast to increase to hurricane strength by the time she makes landfall in Louisiana—though the location and timing of that landfall were unclear, notes the AP.
