Despite reporting that he was viciously attacked by Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman showed no apparent signs of abrasions, bleeding, or bruising when he was brought in for questioning by police the night he shot the teen. The handcuffed shooter appears untouched on a surveillance video—obtained by ABC News—as he's escorted into the Sanford police station. He told investigators that Trayvon, 17, punched him in the face, then jumped on him and slammed his head into the concrete when the two encountered one another in their neighborhood.
An initial police report said that Zimmerman was bleeding at the scene from the back of the head and nose, which his lawyer later said was broken. After receiving medical attention, police decided he was in good enough condition to be taken to the police station, according to the report. At one point in the video, an officer pauses to look at the back of Zimmerman's head, and no injury is obvious. Nor did Zimmerman go to an emergency room for treatment after his release. The lead investigator wanted Zimmerman charged with manslaughter because he didn't believe Zimmerman's story, but the state attorney's office decided there wasn't enough evidence.
