A member of the Gucci family tells the Guardian she's nervous about a planned Ridley Scott film that will chronicle the fashion dynasty's high times in the 1970s and '80s. Patrizia Gucci is concerned that the "aggressive" movie will devote too much attention to clan infighting, which culminated in the murder of Maurizio Gucci by his wife in 1995.

The 80-plus-year history of the Gucci family's quest for fashion dominance includes a raft of backbiting, legal battles and the occasional violent crime, the Guardian reports. Patrizia Gucci says she gave Scott's partner permission to make a film about her family a few years ago, but now worries the focus has shifted. "I find it offensive," she says. (More Gucci stories.)
