Something about the startling contrast between a hulking cop with a giant can of pepper spray and a group of relatively meek, geeky students has the blogosphere going all arty. The cop who doused sitting UC Davis students full in the face last week is now an internet meme, appearing in altered reproductions of several works of art, from the Sistine Chapel to Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World to Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte and Manet's Le Dejeuner sur l'Herbe. Of course he's casually pepper spraying everyone in sight, from a woman under a parasol to Christina to God. Yet another image has the officer dousing the Declaration of Independence.
