Dominique Strauss-Kahn is a free man, and that leaves Henry Blodget of Business Insider with one question: “Are prosecutors going to apologize … for destroying his life?” Kahn was thrown in jail for months, including a stint in solitary, and the accusations basically destroyed his shot at being president of France. “Everyone makes mistakes,” Blodget allows. “But when you make a mistake, it's customary to apologize—especially when your mistake costs someone his job and ambitions and temporarily destroys his reputation.”
But former prosecutor Lis Wiehl praises prosecutors, saying they “absolutely” did the right thing by arresting Strauss-Kahn. “They had … physical evidence of a sexual encounter, and a possible rapist about to board a plane for France,” she writes for Fox News. “They had to act fast.” They did the right thing by dropping the charges, too. “Prosecutors are not saying the allegations … are lies,” she adds say. “They are saying the allegations cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.” (More Henry Blodget stories.)
