Osama bin Laden's three widows and six children are still in Pakistan, and the country has now decided to bar them from leaving. Initially, Pakistan intended to repatriate the women to their countries of birth, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. But an independent commission investigating the US raid that killed bin Laden issued an order last night to keep them in Pakistan, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The commission, set up by the government and led by a Supreme Court judge, is investigating how the US raid was carried out without the military's knowledge, and how bin Laden hid in the country without being detected. The four-member group may question the country's top military and intelligence officials, who have been embarrassed by the bin Laden incident. The widows and children are currently in the custody of Pakistan's ISI spy agency. (More bin Laden children stories.)
