Accused sex attacker and former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn was apparently a man on a mission the week he was charged with the attempted rape of a New York hotel maid. Just after he checked into his $3,000-a-night Sofitel suite he called the hotel receptionist and asked her to come to his room for a drink, reports the Daily Beast. She declined. The next morning the hotel maid he allegedly attacked was found hysterically sobbing, hiding in a hallway outside Strauss-Kahn's room, according to a separate report in the Daily Beast.
She was having difficulty speaking, but choked out a description of the assault on her; she was worried about losing her job if she contacted police, said witnesses. She reportedly spit on the walls and floor while recounting her experience, and went to a bathroom to try to vomit. The receptionist's testimony is expected to b part of the case against Strauss-Kahan, who denies all charges against him. “Experienced detectives found the complainant’s story to be credible and continued to find it so,” said a New York City police spokesman.
