Police found 11 children allegedly being held by human traffickers at a house in Phoenix today, KNXV-TV reports. Authorities arrested three suspects in connection with what's being called a drop house, where children as young as 2 years old and from as far afield as Mexico, Colombia, and El Salvador were found. All had been smuggled in illegally without their parents, say police.
Authorities found the house after a woman in El Salvador reported that her three young daughters had been kidnapped and were being held in the area. As it turns out, the girls' family had paid the smugglers to bring them to America, but the smugglers then tried to extort more by threatening to sexually assault the girls. The other kids in the house were presumably in similar situations.
