Rodney King will marry one of the jurors from the civil case he filed in against the city of Los Angeles after being brutally beaten by LAPD officers in 1991, RadarOnline reports. King, 44, will marry Cynthia Kelley, a member of the jury that awarded King a $3.8 million settlement after the videotaped beating that became a national touchstone on race. She's a "blessing in my life," he said.
Kelley, the only black member of the jury, recalled she had to fight to get King the settlement she believes he deserved: "During deliberations, the other jurors said, 'Let's just award him $100,000, you know he's just gonna blow it anyway.'" No date's been set for the big day.
