3 Teens on Facebook Hit List Killed

Panic is spreading in the southwestern Colombian town of Puerto Asis after the killings of three teenagers in 10 days. All three were on a 69-name "hit list" posted on Facebook a week ago, CNN reports. The post, which police initially thought was a joke, warned that the people on the list would be executed if they didn't leave town within three days. Two boys on the list, shot and killed while riding a motorcycle, were already dead by the time the list was posted.

A second list with the names of 31 women was posted a few days after the first one. Investigators from Bogota have been sent to Puerto Asis to aid police, who aren't sure who posted the list or why. Marxist guerrillas operate in the area, and authorities say the Los Rastrojos criminal gang exerts a great deal of control over the town and has been known to threaten both community leaders and rival criminals.
