Politics | Michael Steele Blogger Punks Michael Steele Thinking he's talking to a donor, RNC chair boasts about record By Marie Morris Posted Aug 2, 2010 4:45 PM CDT Copied RNC chair Michael Steele takes questions from the audience at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Mass., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. (AP Photo/Steven Senne) Michael Steele is "confident" he'll earn a second term as RNC chair, but you probably won't find him talking himself up in the mainstream media. A lying blogger misrepresenting himself as a prospective donor is a different story, however. In what CNN describes as "an unorthodox interview with a conservative journalist," Steele says his "won loss record is better than any chairman in the last 10 years." Though wildly unpopular with many GOP officeholders, Steele has vowed he won't quit and has been coy about whether he'll seek a second term. Asked by Evan Gahr of the Washington Gadfly blog whether he fears a challenge from former Sen. Norm COleman, he replied, "Norm is not going to challenge me for RNC chairman. If he does I’ll put my record up against anyone who comes after to me. I feel confident we’ll get re-elected." Read These Next Melinda French Gates reacts to her ex showing up in new Epstein files.
