Jail Is Just What LiLo Needs

Lindsay Lohan's incarceration—the troubled starlet started serving 90 days for a probation violation this morning—is no accident. "Lohan at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., is a culmination of a perfect storm of failures," Courtney Hazlett writes for MSNBC. Whether or not the 90-day sentence is out of proportion, the gossip maven writes, "I’m a card-carrying member of the party that believes this is likely the wake-up call that she needs."

"'This is what happens when child stars go bad' would be too convenient a label to slap on the situation," Hazlett writes. Enabling film producers, neglectful parents, and the actress' own contempt for "the systems put in place to protect her" have landed her behind bars. And that could prove the perfect launching pad for a career revival. "Can Lohan come back from this? Yes, she can. Hollywood is forgiving—as long as you make some money."
