Chad Jones, the New York Giants rookie so severely injured in a car crash that doctors feared he might lose his left foot, is vowing to play football again, his father tells the New York Post. "It's already a miracle, so we're just going to take that miracle and make a bunch of miracles after that," says Al Jones, a high school principal in New Orleans, where his 21-year-old son crashed his SUV into a pole early Friday morning. He faces a lengthy period of rehab.
Chad Jones was ticketed for careless operation, and police said they do not believe the 6:15am crash was alcohol-related. The former LSU football and baseball star has spoken with Giants coach Tom Coughlin, and the team's director of player development visited in the hospital, Jones' dad says. "He's in a little pain and he's a little uncomfortable, but he's very articulate. Of course, he's a little sedated, but the hospital is doing a great job with him."
