A tornado tore through Billings, Mont., yesterday, ripping the roof off a sports arena and several other nearby buildings. You can actually see it happen in this up-close-and-personal amateur video aired by CNN. The twister touched down at about 4:30 and hovered in place for about 15 minutes, according to the AP. No one was reported injured.
Montana National Guard members were dispatched to guard damaged properties overnight. Owners returned to pick through the wreckage this morning. "We're just getting all the stuff we can save out," said the owner of a dance studio. "I'll wait to hear from my insurance guy to see what we can do." As she spoke, her students picked their soggy costumes out of the piles of broken wood and glass. "Has anyone seen my tiara?" asked one forlorn girl.
