Disgraced Fundraiser 'a True Bon Vivant'

Erstwhile fugitive fundraiser Norman Hsu had a taste for the finer things, including a 180-bottle wine collection valued at $100,000 and a saxophone seemingly signed by President Bill Clinton. Those items were in the outlaw bundler’s New York apartment, according to newly unsealed documents. One expert tells the Los Angeles Times of the sizable cellar, “It’s a little showy, but nice.”

Clinton signed many instruments to be given to charities; autographed saxophones have sold for $64,000 at auction. The stars of the wine cache were 11 bottles of legendary 1982 Lafite Rothschild, valued as high as $3,500 apiece. Hsu is currently being held in a California jail, where, the Times observes, “he is likely finding the beverages below his usual standards.” (More Norman Hsu stories.)
