Charlie Sheen went to court in Aspen today to plead no contest to a misdemeanor in the domestic assault case involving his wife, Brooke Mueller, but the plea bargain didn't go down. "They need time to re-work the final points of the plea deal," the DA said. Asked by the judge whether he'd waive his right to the speedy trial, the actor responded, "Yes," RadarOnline reports.
Sheen, who had been charged with felony menacing and two misdemeanors, was reportedly willing to accept a 30-day sentence and perform work release with a local theater company. The artistic director was already figuring out how to use him. "When our play opens on the 18th, he might greet patrons and maybe do a curtain speech that night," she told the New York Daily News. Those plans will have to wait; Sheen is due back in court July 12.
