Oh, that pesky Daily Show and its fact checkers. Glenn Beck worked himself into a good lather the other day, calling out the media for suppressing footage of activists from the Gaza aid flotilla attacking Israeli soldiers with clubs. “That video, you'll be hard-pressed to see it here in America from media outlets besides Fox,” he declared, “No one seems willing to show that.”
Which would be a great story, except that, as Jon Stewart proved with actual footage, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, and PBS all aired the tape a day before Beck's segment. “This can mean only one of two things,” Stewart concludes. “Mr. Beck lives in a cloistered world of paranoid delusion that is impervious to a priori evidence that contradicts his world view, or … Glenn Beck has become so powerful that his wise words can now be acted on retroactively.” (More Jon Stewart stories.)
