A Chinese father was attacked by passers-by when he tried to auction off his child on the street. He chained the boy, 8, to a lamppost near a sign describing his strong work ethic. Perhaps even more shocking: There were apparently bidders, who wanted to know how much the youngster ate. After the father was attacked, police took the boy into their care, the Sun reports.
“He has no job, no home, and no money,” says an officer of the man, whose wife died three years ago. “He says he wasn't interested in money, just finding a home for the boy.”
