Travis Henry, the injured Broncos running back who leads the NFL in rushing yards but faces a year's suspension for violating league drug policy, has announced his determination to suit up this Sunday against the Chargers. Coach Mike Shanahan agreed that Henry will play, provided the knee and ankle he sprained last week continue to improve, reports the Rocky Mountain News.

Neither Shanahan nor Henry would comment on the ongoing drama surrounding the positive drug test, Henry's third. Henry claims that his expert was incorrectly barred from observing the test, and is trying to stop the NFL from testing his backup specimen to confirm or refute the first contested sample. Resolution could take several weeks, while Henry will likely continue playing. (More NFL stories.)
