US Marshalls arrested an anti-tax couple yesterday after an 8-month standoff in New Hampshire, the Concord Monitor reports. Holed up in a solar-powered, concrete home, Ed and Elaine Brown vowed to leave "either as a free man and as a free woman or in body bags." The Browns will serve 63-month prison terms on tax-related crimes.

A jury said the Browns were hiding almost $2 million that Elaine had earned as a dentist. Yet the Browns, once active in the militia movement, still snubbed their noses at the law. They even threatened cops and feds, and pled their case on on the Internet. One blogger asks when the more than 5,000 friends listed on their MySpace page will "take action" to support them.
