Laura Bush may be married to one George W., but that doesn’t mean she agrees with him on everything—including thorny issues like abortion and gay marriage. “When couples are committed to each other and love each other, they ought to have the same sort of rights that everyone has,” she told Larry King last night while promoting her new book, Spoken From the Heart, although she said she understands her husband's (anti-gay marriage) point of view.
On abortion, she says, “I think it’s important that it remain legal, because I think it’s important for people for medical reasons and other reasons.”
