Skinny Jeans Don't Excuse Rape
Skinny jeans are no excuse for rape.   (?Kirsten Hartsoch)

At least two men have recently been cleared of rape charges because their alleged victims were wearing “skinny jeans”—and it’s time to “call bullshit” on the idea that women can’t possibly be victimized if their pants are difficult to remove. “Hear me loud and clear on this one, folks: I don't care if you're wearing nothing but DENTAL FLOSS, let alone a miniskirt or skinny jeans,” that doesn’t excuse rape, writes Virginia Clarkson for Lemondrop.

And the courts are missing the point. “Even if she DID help him take her pants off, it does not mean she was consenting to have sex with him. You can say ‘yes’ to one thing but still express a resounding—and completely admissible-in-court—‘no’ to everything else,” she continues. “Bottom line: ‘No means no’ is the crux of many women's cases”—no matter what they were wearing.
