Mags Blast iPad's No-Nipples Policy

Magazine publishers are complaining that they may as well be working in Iran under Apple demands that content be cleaned up and nipples vanish before editions will be allowed on iPad apps, reports ShinyShiny. It's ironic because the iPad is being touted as the future savior of magazines. But Steve Jobs recently articulated his "moral responsibility" to keep porn off his beloved iPhone, and German publications have already slammed into Apple's app censorship wall.

Apple recently took down the iPhone app for German newsweekly Stern because of one of the publication's typical gallery of erotic photos. "Today they censor nipples, tomorrow editorial content," groused a spokeswoman for Bild, which had to dress its 'Bild Girl' in a bikini to meet Apple app demands. (More iPad stories.)
