The rightie Washington Examiner did a double-take over the new issue of DC magazine Capitol File. It features "cover girl Nancy Pelosi looking particularly young." And "if Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears get flak for airbrushing their photos, why not the speaker of the House?" Their gossip columnists even interview a plastic surgeon to get an opinion on whether the changes might be the result of, gasp, surgery. He thinks not.
Remember, points out blogger Irin at Jezebel, that the Examiner "is a right-leaning freebie, which might explain why they think Pelosi herself should be blamed for any Photoshop crimes visited upon her." Chimes in Tracy Clark-Flory at Salon: "It doesn't take any retouching to make Pelosi into an aspirational cover girl." (More Nancy Pelosi stories.)
