Sarah Palin might think Barack Obama's asking for a "punch in the face," but she's the one who was smacked down by the president in an interview yesterday. "Last time I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear weapons," said Obama in a clear dig at Palin's lack of international experience. He slammed his Tea Party critic to ABC News when asked to respond to Palin's claim that his nuclear weapons reduction policy was like a boy begging to be punched in the face on a playground because there would be no "retaliation."
"If the secretary of defense and the chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff are comfortable with it, I'm probably going to take my advice from them and not from Sarah Palin," he dead-panned. Obama made his comments from Prague, where he had just signed a new START treaty with Russia reducing long-range nuclear weapons. Earlier this week ahead of the signing, Obama announced plans to end the development of new nuclear weapons and said the US would not use nuclear arms against nations that abide by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
