Cops raided six Brooklyn businesses yesterday and say they found something not exactly on the specials list: marijuana. “At lunch it turned into a veritable pot-luck event,” the police commissioner says of one restaurant. “You could go in and get drugs in the food itself or go to the back of the store and pick it up or even buy it over the counter.”

“You see people go in and come out with a brown bag,” says one local who assumed the bags held carry-out food. Eight employees were arrested yesterday; police say about 170 pounds of weed were sold each week, the New York Times reports. The businesses were located in the same 10-block area, but there was no relationship between the drug operations. “It was an open drug bazaar on Nostrand Avenue,” says the area councilwoman.
