Many Americans can’t seem to believe the recession is over, and there’s a very good reason for that: For them, it isn’t. Over the past month, 21 states saw their economies grow, while 22 saw it shrink—that number jumps to 25 if you look at the past three months—according to the Philadelphia Fed’s latest “coincident index,” which aims to measure overall economic conditions.
