Mobile devices might be great for social networking, but extreme devotion to Facebook, Twitter & Co. can lead to “Stress 2.0,” Soren Gordhamer cautions. Fortunately, he has tips for dealing with it:

  • Disconnect, even just briefly. When you stop absorbing information, go outside, eat lunch, chat up a friend, he urges on Mashable (while suggesting apps that make his tips easier to accomplish.
  • Breathe. Seriously, take a deep breath. You’ll feel calmer almost instantly.

  • Add natural energy to your diet. Caffeine’s only going to leave you needing another hit later, so find a better way.
  • Move your body. Whether it’s adding some yoga moves to your day, or biking to work, sprinkle it in throughout.
  • Learn to surf. Sure, the actual ocean is fine, but the Web packs the same constant, huge flow—only of information instead of water. Learn what you need, how to glide through it all.
