Studies show that eating breakfast and maintaining a high-fat diet around the time of conception heighten your chances of having a boy, the Telegraph reports. Aiming for a girl? Skip that morning meal and eat a low-fat diet: Food restriction favors females, "most probably due to selective loss of male fetuses, the most vulnerable sex in the womb," said one researcher.
An earlier study had similar findings, although a higher calorie intake only pushed the chances of having a son from 10 out of every 20 births to 11. "The more women ate the more likely she was to have a boy,” says one researcher, adding that eating “a higher quantity and wider range of nutrients” also contributed to the higher chances of having a boy.
