Just discovered remains of a 14-year-old girl may be linked to a San Diego-area sex offender arrested last week in the murder of area teen Chelsea King, police have indicated. The bones of Amber DuBois were found over the weekend in a rugged rural area in northern San Diego County. DuBois was last seen alive more than a year ago walking to her school from her suburban San Diego home, reports CNN.
John Albert Gardner has pleaded innocent to charges that he raped and murdered of King, 17, who was apparently attacked while jogging in a San Diego area park. "We are involved in the daily briefings on the King investigation," said an Escondido police chief working on the DuBois investigation. The hunt for DeBois was stepped up after King's murder.
