Kirsten Gillibrand lost another challenger today: Publisher and real estate mogul Mort Zuckerman won't be running for her Senate seat after all. "I was encouraged by many major political figures in New York to look closely at running for Senate," Zuckerman told the Daily News. "However, at this time, it is very difficult to see how I can devote the necessary time to either a campaign, or to working in Washington, if I were to win." Zuckerman cited his "young family" and the death of his partner at Boston Properties as factors in his decision.
Monday Harold Ford Jr. dropped what had been a highly publicized bid to challenge Gillibrand in a Democratic primary.
