Criticize the tea party from afar, and you may find yourself rubbing shoulders with its members shortly thereafter: The Dallas Tea Party has challenged Keith Olbermann to take a firsthand look at what the movement is really about after the MSNBC host criticized its lack of diversity. “How many black faces do you see at these events?” Olbermann wondered on his show in a clip highlighted in a tea party web video. “Well, Keith,” goes the response, “we see a whole lot more at our events than we see at MSNBC.”
The video then shows a image of MSNBC’s admittedly pasty on-air talent, Politico notes. "Something tells me you’ve never been to a tea party,” the video continues. “We think you need to get out of your bubble.” The Dallas Tea Party then invites Olbermann to the one-year anniversary of its first protest, on Saturday. The video ends with a fitting Olbermann-ism. “ If you don’t show, have you no shame, sir?” (More Dallas Tea Party stories.)
