The British government's biggest-ever release of UFO files today let the public in on more than 6,000 pages from the 1990s documenting sightings of hovering triangles and strange lights. In one 1997 sighting, a man found dogs barking at a blue triangular craft hovering over his backyard; when it departed, it left behind a "silky white substance" that he gathered in a jar, CNN reports.
Another man developed a skin problem after walking through a "tube of light" that descended in front of his car, and one UFO spotted in Scotland—perhaps by a hungry chocolate lover—was the shape of a Toblerone bar. A UFO expert said the material shows how UFO shapes have changed over the decades: in the 1950s, when round aircraft were expected in the near future, people saw flying saucers; in the '90s, influenced by the shape of stealth bombers and Aurora spy planes, people tended to spot big, black triangles.
