Doug Fieger, lead singer and guitarist of rock group The Knack, is dead at age 57. The Knack was most famous for the single "My Sharona," which spent 6 weeks at the top of the charts in 1979 and became a requirement for bar bands everywhere. Fieger had battled lung and brain cancer for 6 years, the Detroit Free Press reports, but remained optimistic throughout: “I’ve had 10 great lives,” he said in a January interview. “And I expect to have some more. I don’t feel cheated in any way, shape or form.” (More music stories.)
