Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie certainly did meet lawyers and sign legal documents recently, but those documents had nothing to do with a split: The couple signed a living will. Angelina just wanted to make sure that “if, God forbid, anything happens to her, Brad has complete control” rather than her father, a source tells PopEater. The New York Daily News heard something slightly different: The couple was covering their assets.

“They aren't married, so they need to protect their children and property in case there's a rift in the future,” that source says. “People hear 'legal papers' and assume it means a divorce.” In fact, when these pesky rumors started up, the couple was “actually out to dinner together,” a source hmmphs to People. However, recent news that they’ll likely skip the Academy Awards has added more fuel to the gossip fire.
