Hey, GOP: It's Time for Contract With America 2.0

Republicans will probably gain seats this year by doing nothing, Matt Lewis writes for Politics Daily. But if the GOP wants a real victory, it should take a page from Newt Gingrich’s playbook and come up with Contract with America, version 2.0, "a promise that if Republicans are given control of the Congress, the following acts will be brought to a vote in the 112th Congress." Lewis has some ideas on what those acts should be:

• The American Health Care Act: a promise to repeal any aspects of ObamaCare that are enacted, while passing reform that aligns with conservative principles.
• The e-Congress Act: to diminish the corrupting power of Washington, certain votes should be held electronically to keep legislators at home more often.
• The Energy Independence Now Act: "up the ante" by proposing 100 new nuclear plants and immediate drilling in Federal lands
• The Strong National Defense Act: "an explicit resolution that an Iranian nuclear weapon is a casus belli justifying regime change, by force if necessary."
• The Science and Final Frontiers Act: put a man on Mars by 2019 and make curing cancer the "nation's top national health priority."
