Five journalists plan to lock themselves in a French farmhouse and try gathering news using only Facebook and Twitter. During their 5-day sojourn, the journalists will be cut off from all other links to the outside world—there will be no TVs, and other web surfing is strictly prohibited. Then they’ll report their findings on their respective radio stations in Canada, France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
“This experiment will enable us to take a hard look at all the myths that exist about Facebook and Twitter,” a senior editor at one of the French stations tells AFP. “Our aim is to show that there are different sources of information and to look at the legitimacy of each of these sources.” (More Twitter stories.)
