Sandra Bullock Donates $1M to Haiti

Sandra Bullock is the latest celebrity, following George Clooney and Brangelina, to donate $1 million to Haiti’s earthquake aid efforts. The latest, from Variety and Us, on how other celebrities are helping:

• George Clooney: Along with Wyclef Jean and Anderson Cooper, Clooney will co-host Friday’s “Hope for Haiti” telethon—the latest performers to sign up include Christina Aguilera, Bono, Alicia Keys, Sting, and Justin Timberlake.
• Madonna: Donated $250,000.

• Larry King: Hosted a special edition of his show last night featuring ways to help and appearances by celebrities including Mick Jagger, Sean Combs, Susan Sarandon, Ben Stiller, and Ryan Seacrest.
• Taylor Swift: Along with Ashley Judd, helped the University of Kentucky to raise $1 million in a “Hoops for Haiti” telethon.
• Major League Baseball: Pledged $1 million to start; specific clubs including the New York Yankees ($500,000) and Toronto Blue Jays ($250,000) also donated.
• Olivia Wilde: Told reporters she is auctioning off some of her outfits and pledging all the profits to Haiti relief—Meryl Streep, Gerard Butler, and others will do the same.
• U2: Wrote a song for another relief event being organized by Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz.
• John Travolta: Will fly ministers, medics, and supplies to Haiti.
• Lance Armstrong: Donated $1 million through LiveStrong.
