Raul Castro signaled that his honeymoon with the Obama administration is over in an angry speech yesterday accusing the US of stepping up its effort to topple the country's Communist government. "The enemy is as active as always," said Castro, pointing to the Cuba's recent detention of an American citizen for distributing communications equipment to opposition groups.

The detained American was "working to illegally distribute sophisticated methods of satellite communication to members of the 'civil society' which they hope to form against our people," Castro said. The American, who was working for a Maryland-based aid organization, was arrested early this month. US officials have not been granted access to him, CNN reports.
