Black Caucus Openly Feuds With Obama

Long frustrated by President Obama's inaction on urban issues, the Congressional Black Caucus threw up its hands yesterday and walked out on a vote on financial reform following a heated meeting between Maxine Waters and Rahm Emanuel. The measure passed easily, but Waters said the CBC could side with the GOP next time if Obama doesn’t address its concerns. The caucus believes Obama, a former member, takes them for granted, and favors conservative Blue Dogs.

Emanuel has never gotten along well with the caucus, which believes he favors the mostly white conservatives he helped elect in the South, West, and Midwest. But increasingly they’re directing their rage at Obama, Politico reports. They feel miffed, for example, that he waited two months to invite them to a White House meeting.
