Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream has nabbed the record for best first-week sales of a debut album in UK chart history. The breakthrough Britain’s Got Talent singer’s record sold 410,000 copies last week, easily topping big draws like Rihanna and Lady Gaga and becoming the fastest-selling disc this year to date in the UK. Svengali Simon Cowell beams at her accomplishment. “She did it her way and made a dream come true,” he tells the BBC.
Boyle also scored a place on the singles chart, with her cover of the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" debuting at No. 9.
