Hoffman 'Unconcedes' in NY-23

Though he's not even sure if he can do such a thing, the Conservative candidate in the special election in New York's 23rd Congressional District told Glenn Beck this afternoon he's "unconceding" after recounts narrowed his deficit with several thousand absentee ballots still uncounted. "If I knew this information at the election night, I would not have conceded," said Doug Hoffman of the narrowing lead for Democrat Bill Owens—who's already been seated.

Pressed by Beck to say if he was "unconceding," Hoffman replied, "Yes, if that's possible." He also admitted that, given that his name would have to appear on 65% of some 10,000 yet-uncounted ballots, that overtaking Owens would be a "long shot." In that event, the Hill notes, Owens would be removed from office.
