The police sergeant who brought down the Fort Hood shooter tells Oprah she's “doing well” despite three gunshot wounds. Kimberly Munley, 34, said the call came in as she was washing her patrol car at the end of her shift. "The entire incident was very confusing and chaotic," Munley said from her hospital room. "There was many people outside pointing to the direction that this individual was apparently located, and as soon as I got out of my vehicle and ran up the hill was when things got pretty bad."
In the ensuing chaos, Munley got shot in both thighs and a knuckle, but is in good condition, CNN reports. "Every day is a progress for me,” she said, “and things are getting better day by day. I'm doing well.” She said her performance was nothing extraordinary. “The training does take over. In that particular incident, we didn't have much time to think.”
